    Another sporting season is coming to a close and we can only feel proud to have sponsored some local football, basketball and cycling teams once again this year.

    The Reach certificate is a document that attests to the conformity of companies with a specific health and environmental protection directive. The precepts envisaged by the Reach directive can be applied to different industrial sectors and, on the ferroalloys market, supplying material including Reach safety data sheets has become synonymous of quality, reliability and trustworthiness of the supplier.

    Il certificato Reach è un documento che attesta il rispetto da parte delle aziende di una specifica direttiva in materia di salute e tutela ambientale. I precetti contenuti nella direttiva Reach possono essere applicati a diversi settori industriali e nel mercato delle ferroleghe fornire materiale comprensivo di scheda di sicurezza Reach è diventato sinonimo di qualità, affidabilità e serietà del fornitore.

    Cosa è la direttiva Reach

    Le aziende che seguono la direttiva Reach devono tenere traccia delle sostanze chimiche utilizzate, di come vengono usate e di come verranno smaltite, e sono tenute a comunicare le loro procedure all’ECHA, l’ente che supervisione l’applicazione della direttiva Reach, il quale attesta se i materiali possono essere considerati sicuri per la salute e per l’ambiente.

    We have been operating in the iron and steel industry for over 30 years during which we have fine-tuned an efficient logistic process which allows us to guarantee consistent deliveries of ferroalloys to optimise the work procedures of our customers, to maintain low in-house stock without interrupting production plant operations. Below are further details on our just-in-time logistics for the supply of ferroalloys.

    How the just-in-time logistics for ferroalloys actually works

    Just-in-time logistics applied to the iron and steel industry, and in particular the supply of ferroalloys, envisages quarterly orders of materials which are not delivered immediately to the customer, but are stored in our 45,000 sqm warehouse.

    Here the ferroalloys are inspected to guarantee their quality, they are screened and crushed if special sizes are required, packed in big bags if the service is requested and remain ready to despatch until the steelworks or foundry submit a delivery order.

    Deliveries of materials

    The delivery of the ferroalloys to our customer facilities only takes place when the material is actually required. This can take place at scheduled time intervals, e.g. once a week, or upon request: with a simple phonecall the ready to use materials stored in our warehouse on behalf of a customer are ready to be despatched to the relevant production facility!

    Thanks to our logistics set-up, steelworks and foundries can always count on the stock in our warehouse, with the certainty of always having materials ready for delivery to their facilities.

    The demands of steelworks and foundries differ considerably and it is our duty to supply each of the same with the ferroalloys that best suit their manufacturing requirements. In addition to supplying materials made of several elements, such as silico manganese, ferro silicon, ferro aluminium, ferro manganese, ferro chromium, we also carry out the screening, sizing and packaging in big bags or  bags to supply every customer with products that are ready to use in their systems.     Ferroalloy screening and sizing

    Our ferroalloys are stored in a 45,000 sqm warehouse where they are controlled by independent certification bodies to guarantee the maximum quality of the raw materials.

    The ferroalloys are then picked from the warehouse and moved to the screening machine which separates them, based on their size, to obtain stocks of materials divided by size and ready to deliver to steelworks and foundries.

    The attention we pay to the ferroalloy sizing allows us to deliver our customers the materials best suited to their production capacity in accordance with their technical fact sheets, optimising the operating procedures and the entire supply chain of the steelworks and foundry which will use our ferroalloys.

    Standard ferroalloy sizing

    Based on our experience, we have selected the most popular sizes used by sector steelworks and we have used them as the benchmark for the standard sizes of our ferroalloys:

    • from 0 to 1 mm
    • from 1 to 3 mm
    • from 3 to 10 mm
    • from 10 to 50 mm
    • from 20 to 80 mm
    • from 50 to 150 mm and higher

    These sizes are always in stock and customers can simply contact our sales office to order an immediate delivery.

    Customised ferroalloy sizes

    As we manage the screening and crushing phases in-house, we can process the ferroalloys by request until we obtain the size which best suits the production capacities of each customer.

    Special ferroalloy sizes are available in minimum order quantities, but you can simply contact our sales office to check available stocks and order the size of raw materials that best suits the requirements of your system.

    Packaging

    Our service includes packing in from 1 to 1.5 ton big bags and in from 20 to 25 kg bags to deliver to each customer a supply customised to suit production capacities.

    Come funziona la logistica just in time per le ferroleghe

    La logistica just in time applicata al settore siderurgico, e alla fornitura di ferroleghe in particolare, prevede ordini trimestrali di materiale che non viene consegnato subito al cliente, ma viene stoccato presso i nostri 45000mq di magazzino.

    Qui le ferroleghe vengono controllate per assicurarne la qualità, vengono vagliate, frantumate se sono necessarie pezzature particolari, viene effettuato l’eventuale servizio di imballo in sacconi, e restano a disposizione fino all’effettiva richiesta di fornitura da parte dell’acciaieria o della fonderia.

    La consegna del materiale

    L’effettiva consegna delle ferroleghe presso l’impianto dei nostri clienti viene fatta solo nel momento in cui c’è necessità di materiale. Questo può avvenire a intervalli di tempo regolari, ad esempio una volta a settimana, oppure su richiesta: basta una telefonata perché la merce pronta in magazzino e stoccata per conto di un cliente parta alla volta del suo stabilimento produttivo!

    Oltre a fornire materiali composti da diversi elementi, come silicio manganese, ferro silicio, ferro alluminio, ferro manganese, ferro cromo, ci occupiamo anche della vagliatura, della pezzatura e degli insaccamenti in big bag o in sacchetti per fornire a ogni cliente materiale pronto all’uso all’interno dei suoi impianti.

    Vagliatura e pezzatura delle ferroleghe

    Le nostre ferroleghe sono stoccate in 45000 mq di magazzino dove vengono controllate da enti certificatori esterni per assicurare la massima qualità delle materie prime.

    Successivamente, le ferroleghe vengono prelevate dal magazzino e passano nella macchina vagliatrice che le separa in base alla loro dimensione, per ottenere stock di materiale diviso per grandezza pronto per essere consegnato presso acciaierie e fonderie.

    L’attenzione che poniamo alla pezzatura delle ferroleghe ci permette di dare ai nostri clienti materiale adeguato alle loro capacità produttive e conforme alle loro schede tecniche, ottimizzando gli iter di lavoro e l’intera filiera dell’acciaieria o della fonderia che dovrà utilizzare le nostre ferroleghe.

    Le pezzature standard delle ferroleghe

    Dalla nostra esperienza abbiamo individuato alcune pezzature che sono più richieste di altre tra le aziende settore siderurgico e le abbiamo prese come riferimento per la pezzatura standard delle nostre ferroleghe:

    • da 0 a 1 mm
    • da 1 a 3 mm
    • da 3 a 10 mm
    • da 10 a 50 mm
    • da 20 a 80 mm
    • da 50 a 150 mm e oltre

    Gestendo direttamente le fasi di vagliatura e frantumazione, su richiesta possiamo lavorare le ferroleghe fino a ottenere la pezzatura più idonea per le capacità produttive di ogni cliente.

    Le ferroleghe con pezzature particolari sono disponibili con quantitativi minimi d’ordine, ma è sufficiente contattare i nostri uffici commerciali per verificare le disponibilità e avere una materia prima della dimensione più adatta al tuo impianto.
